MERS Board Member Brian Graime Honored with the Janine Liegi Memorial Award

The Foundation for Manalapan-Englishtown Regional Schools is proud to announce that Mr. Brian Graime has been selected as the recipient of this year’s Janine Liegi Memorial Award.

For over a decade, Brian has been our community's dedicated advocate and pillar, serving the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District (MERS) with passion and distinction. Since first being elected to the MERS Board of Education in 2010, he has spent 14 years championing student success and holding key leadership roles, including Board President and Vice President.

Throughout his tenure, he has tirelessly promoted programs and best practices that support every student's academic, social, and emotional growth. His leadership has been critical in ensuring the district’s financial responsibility while maintaining the high-quality programs that set our students up for lifelong success.

Beyond his work in education, Mr. Graime’s contributions extend deep into the community. He has volunteered as a coach and supporter in the Manalapan Baseball and Softball Associations, dedicating countless hours to mentoring young athletes. His commitment to literacy and education is further evidenced by his regular participation in Read Across America events at schools throughout the district.

Notably, Brian played a vital role in the passage of the $115 million district referendum, guiding the Board through a transparent and community-focused campaign, engaging with the public at events and online forums to ensure the district's needs were understood and supported.

One of his lasting legacies is his advocacy for cohort-based student monitoring. This practice has helped the district more effectively track and support student growth year after year. His unwavering dedication to students and staff has left an indelible mark on the MERS district.

"Brian’s decades of unwavering dedication and his deep belief in the transformative power of education have made him a true champion for our children. His impact is felt in every classroom, on every field, and throughout our community.” As Patricia Berger, Immediate Past President and Founder of The Foundation, so beautifully shared, ‘The Liegi Janine Memorial Award is not just a recognition — it is a heartfelt tribute to Brian’s extraordinary legacy and his profound, lasting commitment to the Manalapan-Englishtown community.’"

The Foundation congratulates Mr. Brian Graime on this well-deserved honor and thanks him for his extraordinary contributions to our schools and community.
