Ricardo G. Rivers Begins His Term as President of The Foundation

I am honored and humbled to have been elected President of The Foundation for Manalapan-Englishtown Regional Schools (MERS) effective January 2025.

I would like to begin by thanking Immediate Past-President and Founder Patricia Berger for her years of dedicated service as President of The Foundation and for the significant impact her leadership has had in guiding the steady development of the Foundation since it was established during the 2009-2010 school year. Patricia’s leadership has made a positive impact not only on the Foundation itself; but also, has had a transformative impact on addressing the need for support for our schools through her tireless efforts to engage our community in order to ensure additional support and opportunities are provided for students within our PK-8 MERS school district.

As a resident of Manalapan since 2013, I am the father of twin girls who attend school in the MERS district. A financial professional with over 25 years of business experience and more than 20 years of volunteer work in higher education, I am excited about the opportunity to lead The Foundation as we move forward during a time when continuing to financially support our schools and giving back to our community is critically important. I have held various leadership volunteer roles, including my current position as Treasurer of the Manalapan Business Association, Trustee and member of the Investment Committee at my alma mater, Franklin & Marshall College, and Past-President of the Franklin & Marshall College Alumni Association. As someone who believes in the power of Education to create a holistic approach to learning, I am honored to serve and give back to our local community, along with my fellow Trustees, through the investment of time and financial resources.

The Trustees for The Foundation are passionate, energetic, and committed to supporting our mission, which is to educate, enrich, and empower every PK-8 student in our district by partnering with families, educators, and the community to expand access to opportunities that foster academic, emotional, and social growth—both in and beyond the classroom. I strongly believe in the opportunities available to support educational initiatives like STEAM-related programs and in the spirit of collaboration necessary to ensure every student has equitable access to opportunities, resources, and support that help them learn, grow, and lead now and in the future.
