Thinking Beyond the Classroom

WIN Bins Bring Hands-On Critical Thinking to K–5 Students

Students learn best when they are encouraged to think deeply, solve problems, and explore new ideas. The WIN Bins for All initiative brings engaging, hands-on enrichment opportunities to K–5 classrooms across the district, providing teachers with grade-level bins filled with thoughtfully selected games and puzzles that strengthen critical thinking, collaboration, and perseverance.

Supported through a $5,300 grant awarded to Sharon Hanson and Jessica Britton, this district-wide initiative ensures that every elementary student has access to meaningful enrichment during the WIN (What I Need) period. By incorporating unplugged activities that challenge students to think creatively and work together, the program helps build essential problem-solving skills while promoting equity and consistency across all elementary schools.
