Maria Mallamaci
Vice President
Maria Mallamaci is a founding Trustee of The Foundation for MERS since its inception in the 2009/2010 school year and is currently serving as Vice President. Maria has, and continues to serve on several committees: Finance, Governance, Grant Review and Fundraising & Development. Over the past 10 years she has had great responsibility at all foundation events. In addition to being deeply involved at every event, she has co-chaired the Harlem Wizards events, Family Yoga Day and the 10th Anniversary Shining Light Gala (which was canceled 2 weeks prior, due to the 2020 pandemic).
Maria has volunteered countless hours for more than 20 years in efforts to be actively involved in her children’s education aside from The Foundation for MERS. She co-created a weekly play group at St. Thomas More in 1998, served as “Class Mom”, and “Team Mom “year after year, and was appointed to various PTA leadership roles between 2003-2019. Maria is also a Certified Catechist and Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas More since 2003. Her desire to stay involved in her children’s education continues as she serves on the PTA, PAPA and Athletic Booster Club at Red Bank Catholic High School since 2011. She continued her parent involvement to serve as “Guardian Representative” as her oldest son began Emerson College in Boston in 2015. It is the great passion of Maria and her family to volunteer and give back to the community. She is also a member of the Manalapan Business Association where she represents The Foundation for MERS. Further, Maria is a member of the Italian American Association of Monmouth County. In addition to all her roles of volunteerism, Maria is Director of Operations and Human Resources at Gino Mallamaci, CPA-Certified Public Accountants & Business Consultants.
Maria and her husband, Gino are originally from Brooklyn, New York. Maria is a proud alum of Bishop Kearney High School and Pace University. Maria and Gino began their search in December of 1990 for a place to call home. Education and the public school system were extremely high on their priority list as they were preparing for a future family. They did not want their first home purchase to be temporary. They were looking for a town and a house to meet all of their wants and needs. Manalapan was a town that provided all the items on the Mallamaci’s wish list. In May 1992 Maria and Gino closed on their new home and moved in mid-July upon returning from their honeymoon. Adding to their happiness, Maria and Gino are the extremely proud parents of three outstanding sons: Christopher, Michael and Dominic. Maria and Gino have enjoyed many days and evenings watching their sons both on the stage performing, or on a baseball field and basketball court. Aside from enjoying watching her two younger sons play baseball and basketball, Maria truly loves professional sports, with the New York Yankees on the top of her list. Maria’s traditional values extend to her rooted and genuine relationship she and her husband passionately have with their family in Italy. So much so, in 2009, Maria and Gino created a unique and personal tour company that allows Gino to escort small, intimate groups on a 13-night Italian dream vacation.
Maria truly loves people and joining forces with those who share her ideals and desires to assist others, especially the children of our K-8 school district.
