Eve Fleishman receives the 2022 Janine Liegi Memorial Award

Annually, The Foundation for MERS awards an individual from our community the Janine Liegi Memorial Award. The Janine Liegi Memorial Award recognizes an outstanding individual each year for their service. The recipient of this award exemplifies dedication to the district and personal sacrifice. They are committed to the community and are a true model of integrity.  Their actions demonstrate the belief that all students can and will succeed.

Eve Fleishman is a dedicated educator and serves as a role model to not only her students but her colleagues. Eve is a Special Education teacher at MEMS. She works tirelessly to ensure her students make academic growth and reach their full potential. She advocates for their needs, academically and socially. Eve’s influence extends well beyond her students. She serves as the advisor for the National Junior Honor Society. Through this role, she has helped students give back to their community. She has arranged fundraisers, community service projects, and initiatives that span across buildings.

With Eve’s help, MEMS’ students have presented to students at our elementary schools on
anti-bullying practices. Eve is a vital part of the MEMS culture. She arranges spirit days, Sunshine events, and culture building events for the staff. She even continued these practices when the MERS district was virtual learning! She created videos for the staff and arranged digital community service projects for her students.

It is with great honor that The Foundation for MERS presented this award to Ms. Eve Fleishman.
